I think that the loyalty of the 4 people who did not leave the guild should be recognized and taken into account that we want to stay in this guild and consider it awesome. Unfortunately almost all the mains and alts who i have come to know and like are no longer in noesis and off raiding with other guilds. I think it's nice that you all enjoy it but some of us tried but irl things just got in the way; back to the problem at hand though. I think Mike, Tim and I (maby others i missed) should be promoted to high ranks, and Stan (whom you all can trust hence him being class leader) should become the new head honcho, or at least a high lord. I say this because us 4 want to get the guild back together or start back up. I understand if this idea doesn't fly but i don't want a new guild, and after my last guild I can definitely say finding a new one would suck.

I agree that there should be some discussion around this (assuming ppl still visi the site to read this, haha).
My understanding was that most ppl only took their main raiding toon out, but the rest of their alts stayed in the guild. As well, we still have a Noesis channel that most of us are in, so that we can still have a kind of a "guild chat" going, even when everyone's in different guilds.
I do think it's a good idea to promote to higher ranks the people that are still in the guild with their mains, so that they can invite ppl who are interested in joining a gay-friend social guild. Obviously people are still applying, and I think it's only fair that we respond to them somehow.

Well i think that the people who stayed in or rejoined should get little power, and I personally would never invite some new recruit with out checking with the noesis gem channel.

Well, wouldn't Stan's leaving to join another raiding guild, returning and then being promoted to GL be a bit of a contradiction with your feelings of "people who rejoined should get little power"? (I paraphrased, obviously.)
By all means, select who you think is best -IF- (and that's a big if) any officer/lead changes occur, but it's prolly not a good idea to set a standard for some and a standard for others.
If folks want to get together and have a bit of a "guild meeting" about it, that's cool, and I'd try my best to attend, but I won't presume to be easilly swayed from any plans I've made. I certainly would like to somehow stay with you all, since I love you fsking winnars, but I'm honestly having a lot of fun on the new server, so I make no guarantees of wot will happen come August when transfers open. =P
//Edit// I -am- intrigued by the fact that despite the ancient "we're not raiding any more" post, we still keep getting apps from people. o_Oa

I am not the redeemer. I came back bc i am comfortable here. I came back because i can see my friends talking if they are on thier alts and not in the /noesis channel. I have no interest in raiding or leading. Just because a person is trustworthy, and somewhat knowlegable, does not mean they can lead. Noesis did not fall apart because the mains of many people left. Noesis fell apart because 1: not enough people wanted to put time and effort into making progress. 2: those of us that spent countless hours trying to maintain a large enough group to progress got tired of spending all our time doing so in vain. We ended up with about 14 great players who were dedicated to getting past the 10 man hump surrounded by everyone else who showed up occasionally, or stopped showing up altogether, or people who would join us, aqcuire a few pieces of new gear, and leave, people showed up not prepared to do something hard, the list goes on and we got tired of dealing with it. the people that wanted to raid, took thier raiding toons somewhere they could do what they spend 15$ a month to do.
I will not be raiding regularly anymore. i am leveling some alts and preparing for the xpac. there is no telling what that has in store for us. there is no reason for a passing of the torch of leadership here. with only a few months to go before everything is obsolete, going and finding quality people to do 10 mans and anything else is going to take serious time. i personally dont want someone going and bringing a bunch of new people to the guild just to do some kara/za and have to learn the personalities of all those new people.
There is no reason for any promotions at this time. Nothing is going to happen. if you want to raid, make more friends and get a group going. Having a new cooler sounding name above one's head means little when nothing is going on.
Id probably have said more things, or that which i did say a little better if i didn't wake up 20 minuites ago

Gotta agree with you here, Stan. Considering the fact that 1-2 months into the guild's existence, people started raiding less and less--I'm pretty sure this happened despite the apparent rescheduling of raids to accommodate more folks in less than a day's notice. 9I would venture to guess that this happened a few times in my case alone.)
My job took me away from most raiding opportunities but regardless of that, it was glaringly obvious that folks simply didn't want to learn the new raids and take their lumps as they came along--they wanted perfect runs and instant gear bestowed upon them. Personally, after years of almost NEVER raiding, I totally enjoyed doing it--even the nasty fskups that came along (sure, I got grumpy about them, but it was still FUN). Other people just whined and complained or neglected to even show on raid nights so the raid coordinators gave up.
I prolly would have, too.
As it is now, I login only to talk to folks. I don't expect to raid again, at least on this server, with Nemu which sucks because I genuinely enjoyed raiding with a lot of people. But I have no interest in starting over and proving myself with another established guild, regardless of invites. I'll help out if offered (sometimes), but I'm finding that I have more opportunities to raid on other servers with other folks I know (offline and online alike).

First: Mike you suck for voting no Second: i think that we should do this because of the fact that it just breaks my heart to login to a nonexistent guild. and i wouldn't expect to raid a lot. I've actually started to give up on ever raiding until WotLK, but I would like to see Noesis get some people who are on and can be trusted in positions of higher power. Third: I mean no offense to Hector in this but i think our gm should be on and in the guild because it's just not right that we have all these "alts" as the gm or high lord or whatever. I just thought Stan would work because of the fact that he know what he's doing and imo can be trusted to temporarily control the guild. also what are we gonna do with the new applicants? Fourth: i think we can all agree that i have too much time on my hands and should not share all my crazy ideas, HOWEVER...

I'd like to add my .02 and I'll be as succinct as possible.
Rose should be made the new GM. She cares - a lot. Period. She's more interested in the unity aspect of the game since you guys have been playing with each other for so long and she's been around forever basically. I think no matter what happens, Rose would be able to weather the storm and keep the guild together no matter what ventures the guild may decide to embark on (PvP, raiding, social aspects, etc etc etc).
It's easy for me to say because I really haven't been with you guys long relatively speaking - just long enough to get to know some personalities.

At this point, if you're going to "reform" or "remake" you have to consider some things. It's a lot of work, you're far better off just finding a stable guild that does whatever you like. It has nothing to do with not wanting to leave as much as just not wanting to leave your safety net.
I mean, consider this.. a lot of the folks who started this guild have left and gone onto raiding guilds, and remained, even if the atmosphere in some of them isn't that great. Surely, you cannot tell me if they have the courage to leave their safe guild, that you can't either?
The problems in Noesis were relative and not permanent, we could've kept it together and kept trying. It's not anyones fault that the guild didn't succeed, it was an experiment that didn't necessarily fail, but it didn't succeed to everyones expectations, that however doesn't mean it's over, it's just on standby.
"I mean no offense to Hector in this but i think our gm should be on and in the guild because it's just not right that we have all these "alts" as the gm or high lord or whatever."
No offense to you, but this was Hector's brainchild, and he made it. And the ones who're all highlords? Yeah, they've been around for years. They're not going anywhere, this guild is still in their hearts and they still want to cherish and take care of it. However, they actually wanted to SEE and DO content on a regular basis, which we couldn't really do in Noesis at the present time, too many people would say they would come and then wouldn't show, the aggravation got to a lot of us who actually want to do things, which is why Noesis is in the state it's in currently.

Rose, you know I love you to death. All I was pointing out is that the basis of this thread was because toons left to raid with other guilds and the feeling was some one who didnt leave should be GM. In a nut shell you did take a toon out to raid with another guild. See where im going with this?
On as side note Travis is straght $ with his post.
